When choosing our dream house, we considered a couple of basic criteria – we wanted a typical Andalusian home with a view of the sea which was easily accessible from the airport and situated in a walking distance from the beach. We chose this house after about six months of searching and we fell in love with it thanks to its location and the fact that it lies in a small community of only 19 homes, has a pool only a few steps from the terrace and offers a quiet and private place to stay, which is a very desirable thing in this day and age. However, it was clear that despite its undeniable charm, the house was not new and was in need of renovation. Compared to the original building, we retained basically only the outer walls. Naturally, it was also necessary to completely replace the wiring, waste piping, floor tiling and windows. We wanted to include modern elements into the traditional architecture to ensure essential conveniences that meet contemporary standards. The renovation itself began in March 2019 and was finished in August of the same year. However, we wouldn’t be able to do any of this without our amazing real estate agent, who helped us find the house, contact a reliable and diligent construction supervisor to confidently oversee the renovation, as well as amazing local craftsmen who performed all the work on the house, meticulously, with smile on their faces and ahead of schedule.
Basic information
The house is located about 25 km from the Málaga airport in El Faro in the Mijas district. It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a living room with an open kitchen. The guests can enjoy the region’s pleasant climate on two terraces – the back terrace offers sunshine in the morning, the front one in the afternoon. They can also enjoy a view of the sea from the roof-top terrace accessible through an external staircase. The house has a parking space reserved on a shared parking lot. There are 2 swimming pools – one is located next to the house and the other is a community pool situated about a 3 minutes’ walk from the house. The closest beach isn’t more than 6 or 7 minutes of slow walking away. In the immediate surroundings there is a basic grocery shop, a restaurant and a pizza stand that also offers home deliveries. Other restaurants offering meals from all around the world are 12 to 15 minutes away by foot. There is also a playground and a bus stop in the immediate vicinity of the house.

What you can look forward to
You won’t have to worry about keys as each guest will be assigned a unique access code valid for the duration of their stay. The house is equipped with air-conditioning with three individually adjustable units – two in the bedrooms and one in the main room. In winter, the house is comfortably heated by a floor heating system installed in all rooms. You may also enjoy other amenities such as Wi-Fi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher, refrigerator with a freezer, hair dryer, smoothing iron with an ironing board, induction cooker, oven, electric kettle, drip coffee maker, Nespresso coffee maker and a separate tap filtering water for direct use. It is possible to have a barbecue on the terrace – a high-performance gas grill is provided for your convenience.

The main room contains a large sofa-bed.

Bathroom No. 1 – furnished with a shower enclosure, restroom with a toilet, hair dryer, lights with adjustable intensity and floor heating.
Bathroom No. 2 – furnished with a hydromassage tub, shower enclosure, restroom with a toilet, lights with adjustable intensity and floor heating.
Kitchen
The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes and utensils, drip coffee maker, Nespresso coffee maker, induction cooker, dishwasher, refrigerator with a freezer, oven, drinking water filter, dining table and 4 chairs.
Back terrace
There is a corner garden sofa, table, two adjustable deckchairs and a sun-protecting awning with a wind sensor. There is also a big gas grill and an outdoor refrigerator for beverages.
Utility room
At the front terrace there is a small room with a washing machine and a clothes dryer. There is also a small sink that can also be used for cleaning sand from toys and golf clubs.
Other information
Towels and bedlinen are included. Before each visit, the house is thoroughly cleaned and made ready for use, including refilling detergents for the dishwasher and the washing machine.
